I've just started playing Witcher 3 again, and noticed something odd going on with Frame Generation. If I do a clean boot, and then run say Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark, I will usually consistently get around 94-95FPS as the average. This is 4K with RT on, DLSS performance and Frame Generation on. Fine, no worries that's what I'd expect. If I then fire up Witcher 3, similar settings, I'll get anywhere between 80 and 100 fps, depending on where I am, again, fine it's about what I'd expect.

If I then fire up Cyberpunk again and bench, my fps will conistently be anywhere between 5 and 10 fps lower than before. Similarly, if I start Witcher 3, it'll be about 10 fps slower.

This seems to get worse the more tmes I run Witcher 3.

I know there's issues with W3 and FG in some configs, but I can't understand why it seems to be impacting other titles that also use FG.

This happens with 591.59 and 591.67. Tried updating the nvngx files to the latest but same thing. Can't figure out what it is.

Did a full/clean uninstall and ran nvidia cleanup (I don't usually use these things but what the hell) and reinstalled 581.80, as it was not doing this up until very recently. So far, so good, W3 still crashes on load sometimes but will load a 2nd time and keeps the framerates, as does CP2077. So it was either something funky in the cache possibly, or just the older driver, but I think I'll stick with this one for now.

*edit* spoke too soon, it's doing it again...

*4th edit* I know what it is. I had MPC configured as 'madvr' for watching HDR material, that was launching in the background, if I switch it to a standard renderer, it's all good. FFS, an entire afternoon troubleshooting :D
