ill be playing as normal, whatever that is, and the sound of my rifle will just stop.. all other sounds are fine. this is really pissing me off. has this happend to anybody else?

thats nothing. i was tracking some...THING...in the forest..and it pounced me, but i never heard a bit of it. if i had heard it i coulda turned and filled it with lead.

it was the hardware mixing in the audio options..

nobody else has this problem?

Yeah i get that too. Sounds of the gun just dissappear.
It happens when using hardware mode. I'm using nForce2 audio also.
O well there was no performance hit when i reverted to software audio.

so thats atleast 2 ppl now... nobody else?

Happening to me on the full game w/ SoundStorm. Pissed me off so much I put my old SBLive! in.

yeah in the single player every once in a while my rifle sounds stop for a bit and then catch up heh... Doesn't happen in MP though.

Yea, I get some audio problems when using EAX with my Audigy LS. The sounds will get real warbly and then there will be a long, high-pitched squeal. Afterwards, the sound is gone and performance has dropped a lot. Haven't tried any workarounds, so I just turn off EAX and it's fine. Still a kick ass game :) .

my TBSC handles it fine, except for a few odd sound loops when stuff happens.

"compatable" mode just adds INSANE lag to the sounds.

i noticed that also.. needless to say it wasnt used again.

I tossed an Audigy in my rig a while ago as I lost front L F/R on my SS for some reason.

My sounds are fine regardless of what settings I use... accept for the speech. I can't, for the life of me hear what people are saying. If I crank the volume up to 60 on my Promedia 5.1 ultras, I can make out what they're saying, but if I fire a gun at that sound level, my neighbors get rather annoyed... Even stereo mode/laggy compatibility mode has hard to hear speech :(

Im using onboard sound and it worked fine the first time I fired it up. Now I have lost voices and weapon noises as well, Haven't added the new patch yet. Does it fix any of the sound issues?

My rifle sounds are fine, its enemy weapon sounds that aren't playing. I'm running the game in EAX 2.0 on a Santa Cruz with Dolby 5.1 enabled. Every other sound is fine, but I'll disable EAX and see if that fixes it.

just make sure u try different audio settings and you should be alright otherwise sounds wont play right.

Yea, sure it is. Can't take a joke?

THe nforce2 audio problem is a know bug, and is mentioned in the readme.

Hopefully they're working on a fix. I would just like to have some hardware sound in this great game.
