I get this graphics problem in far cry just randomly and end up going back to the last checkpoint, anyway suddenly the computer freezes for about 2 or 3 seconds then that graphics go wierd like I can see through the floor and rocks dissapear, but its not playable at all firstly its a slideshow and secondly you have no idea where you are doing since half the world is either missing or shaded in coloured shapes. I have the 1.1 patch and am not sure what to try? Would turning my graphics options down help, im on a Geforce 4 MX440 <-- terrible eh? I have most settings on low but some on medium and it worked fine before the patch?

My guess would be that the patch did something that affected lower end cards, like MX cards. If I remember right that barely meets the requirements. I'd check here for a possible solution to your problem, but I'm not real sure offhand.

I know what your problem is; It's your Geforce 4MX ... How do i know you ask?

Well i have read about the MX's, and how they render Farcry; The way the MX cards render is not a bug... It's entirely due to the fact that it ( the MX ) does not have pixel shader support in hardware ( i believe the lowest supported in farcry is PS 1.1 ).

Worse than that it's the plague.
