I have a 90mm Vantec Tornado fan on a Thermalright SP94 heatsink and I can't stand the noise level anymore.

My first concern, is there a way with speed fan or any other way to control the noise level of this fan?? Getting a fan controller to control just one fan would be completly useless if there was maybe a cheap fan controller that could fit in a 5.25 bay.

My second option would be to buy another fan. What is a good all aournd performer that is pretty quiet. I here the panaflows are a good way to go. Also what would be the differences in size should I get a 80mm or 90mm?? seems like the 80mm are quieter.

Anyway any info would be great I 'm leaning towards another Vantec fan that doesn't sound like a jet engine taking off.

even when a vantec tornado uses 2 connectors, 1 for mobo and 1 for 12v power supply connector?? Speed Fan see's it I am not sure if its possible to control it. I have a abit IC7-Max3 mobo.

What would be your suggestions of experiances with some of the fans you have encountered??

There are lots of inexpensive 5.25 fanbus controllers around these days. :)

The Sunbeams are usually around $15 - $20 and offer a nice solid basic fanbus functionality.

If it sees it it can be controlled AFAIK. Go to options/setup and go to speeds and try setting the max to 30% and then click automitallcay variate, then on the main speedfan window check the same automatically variate box... exit speedfan and go back in and see if it worked :)
 
Adidas4275 that fan is exactly what I needed. At 3 bucks a pop I might order 10 =). I like the fanmate too, if I do decide to keep this fan I will purchase that for maybe a future rig I can just overclock and play around with. That site jabtech is cool too I 've never been there and I might pick up some sleeving. I couldn't be much more happier and satisfied! Thanks!!!

Blue Falcon thanks for the link, and info. I am going to purchase another fan, I came to the conclusion that with me not overclocking I have much use for this fan. I like the sunbeans very much at a good price and xoxide is a good site!

Matt00926 I tried that didn't work when I goto speeds tab under the configure window my chipset fan and my otes fan shows up only not my tornado fan. I checked automatically variated and played with the % of the fan speeds and noticed no difference in noise.
