Try with the SMAA Injector or FXAA with full intensity this last provide better sharpness than the FXAA provided by the game and by the Nvidia control panel without blurry.. personally I use SMAA injector it's way better option than TAA + Lumasharpen as it don't blurry while in movement, and without that "glow" effect due the extra sharpening which was a dealbreaker for me using the mod Darker nights as it made the characters glow in the nights.. SMAA + 4K DSR (1080P panel here) is the better i've found for that kind of visual.
for settlements im using the Sim Settlement mod, one of the best mods ever used by me in this game, I think it should be even part of the game haha. highly recommended to anyone here
I'll mess around with all of that for fun.
How is that Sim Settlement Mod? It sure looks good. I see about 20 bugs outstanding on it so far.
So far all I've done is use the game's own settings...I use Fallout 4's Tweaker done by a modder named Bilago... makes life a lot easier and a must have.
I've maxed out eye candy, settings, "recommended" in Bilago's tweaker.
Native resolution.
For now all I'm using is the game's TAA setting with AF maxed at 16 and the latest version of Reshade's Adaptive Sharpener at default setting of 1.0. Nothing else. For now less is more and I'm really impressed with how it looks.
A Little Bit of Green. Less is more but touches some things up. After 200 years things shouldn't be *that* barren.
For settlements, so far, I'm using Homemaker and SOE along with the mod that gives you the Home Plate fuseboxes to use as a generator and the other mod that gives the power conduits expanded coverage.
It's great. I can put one 100 power fusebox up in Sanctuary by the bridge, connect one conduit to it, poof! Every passive power thing in that entire area is lit up. It's great.

See this mod? I consider it absolutely essential when it works right. Unfortunately it looks like it's been abandoned for a year and I really hope it gets updated or someone else picks it up or runs something comparable. It takes a lot of the tedium out of settlement micromanaging.
True Storms combined with Darker Nights Level 3 (for me) is a really nice combination. The nights are darker without being absurd. In the console I did set timescale to 6 to slow that cycle down a little bit. I wouldn't go any lower than that.
Silent Protagonist mod. Anyone doing a replay should get this ASAP.
This eliminates the voices for your character.
A must have for me on this since I'm playing as Snake from MGS (per Armorsmith and compatible mods) or trying to as much as the game's choices allow for. The characters' goodie two shoes voices just aren't going to cut it.

^^ I miss New Vegas. I sorely wish Bethesda would let Obsidian or someone like that take another shot at this franchise and we could get another "New Vegas."
