Tell me what you guys think of this etching work I did last night. It's my first attempt at it (or pretty much any case modding for that matter). Any helpful hints to make the next one go any easier?

What did you use to do the work? It looks good. If that is a clear background I think some red/organe glass or led's to give the pheonix a cool color would look great.

actually it's only about a 16th of an inch deep into the metal. I used a dremel with an etching tip on it. Originally the plan was to cut it out, but I couldn't find anything to cut through with that kind of precision.
 
I love it. If you want to cut out something like that in the future, you can do it by flipping the pattern and cutting from the inside of the panel using a thin cut off wheel. For curved lines, only cut through the metal enough so you can keep a thin clean line showing on the outside face. From your work you definitely have a steady enough hand to do it! Great job.
