Hello [H]ardOCP Crew,

I provide enterprise support for hundreds of government sites and servers and I am sick and tired of the same old manual process of troubleshooting the clients mistakes.

i.e

1) Client calls up and says the Server / Db is broken can you fix ?

2) We ask the client what has changed?

3) Client always say nothing, nothing has changed. (snark snark)

4) We say, oh ok, then we will investigate for days, weeks, months.

5) What do we find always? The client has made an un-authorised / un documented change to the system and broke it.

What I am after is some snapshot technology / software that is cheapish ( under £5000) that can capture system configuration and state every day, and then when you log on you can run a report that will show you:

registry setting changes,

file changes,

config changes correlated against a back dated period say one month?

It has to be human readable too, not low level developer output.

Any ideas would be warmly received,

Kind regards,

Desmack
