Just wondering when you guys send email, what do you use?

- HTML
- Rich
- Plain

Not sure why it would be bad to send email in HTML but many people say don't. I usually send "Rich" so that my signature is visable since I have one very small .JPEG.

I can understand "Plain" if you have a dial up connection and don't have bandwidth to spare.
 
I usually send it as HTML when I mail with Thunderbird.

This thread would have been better as a poll if that's all you were wondering.
 
html email is just extremely annoying. So are embedded pictures. Pictures as attachments are fine, but not when they are supposed to be part of the email. It's not really a bandwidth issue. I can download an html email just about as fast as a plaintext email, but email is supposed to be plaintext so that's what I use. What is especially annoying is when someone sends an essentially plaintext email(no formatting or anything) as html. What is the point?
 
^^ i would guess that whatever client they use sets it to HTML by default and they don't know how or don't know any better to change it
 
plain text, very minimal formatting.

attach a doc if it needs formatting, so it's preserved in all cases.

I use HTML mail because when someone replies to my email with another html it doesnt have this annoying crap:

Have you ever recieved a forwarded email in plain text and it has 300 "greater than" symbols? It's difficult to read.
 
I generally don't get forwarded email often, and when I do it's usually within the first couple generations so it's not that bad. I really don't mind the >s. It's been that way for years in both email and usenet so I am quite used to it and don't find it annoying at all.
 
I always use HTML. Those who say plain text is for e-mail are still living in the 1990's. I hate the monospaced fonts and I like to be able to use some bold, italics, etc.
