So I got my hands onto a Emachine Laptop M5312. It had the orginally XP Home Emachine install of it. I blew it off, and threw FC on there without any major issues. FBSD no major issues. But when I go into installing XP Pro, I'm having issue. It dies very soon into the install. Boots just fine off the cd, first screen that comes up about 'setup was check your current hardware'. Screen goes blank and nothing else. My dad (who I got it from) said he has had an standard install of XP Pro on it in the past without any issues. I'm 99.9% sure the cd is good. Any ideas from you guys. I've gone as far as even blowing away the linux slices (partitions) thinking that maybe it was that.
