for some reason, i think EAX stays 'on' after quitting games that use it, causing regular system sounds to echo. it happens regardless of what sound it is making. ive rebooted, shut down, still seems to be there. at least, im pretty sure thats what it is. played with my speaker wire, no help. any ideas?

the card is an sblive 5.1 card, and the speakers are the old cambridge soundworks (creative branded) 2.1. newest creative drivers installed.
i know for a fact its not any particular setting, as it only happens when ive quit playing games that use EAX (most notably i believe SW:KOTOR) and then resuming regular computer usage (email, internet, etc)
i noticed yesterday that it went away, after i specifically shut my computer down, let it sit for a minute, then rebooted. this seemed to take care of it. just curious if this was some sort of common problem. thanks.
