I was trying to re-install Roxio on my parents computer. After the install, it said changes will take effect after you reboot. So I restarted only to find that my DVD ROM and DVD burner do not appearin My Computer. When I open up device manger, both drives have a big yellow exclamation point by them and it says "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)"

Any thoughts on this?

are you running any sort of virtual CD rom software? I know what when I load an ISO with Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% and Roxio is installed on my machine, weird things happen. For instance, if I have Oblivion in the physical drive (original media), with Daemon toold running in the background, and Roxio installed on the system, the only file that I can see is the autorun.inf file. This drove me nuts for over an hour a few months back when I was re-installing Oblivion to replay it.

I know you are saying that the physical device has an error under the Hardware Manager, which is not the same thing, but I just figured it might be worth a shot. What happens when you uninstall Roxio? Do they work properly then?
