Dual Screen Gaming - Please Help

I have 2x24inch Dell screens (native res 1920x1200) side by side in landscape and would like to know if someone has any ideas how to set them up to game across both screens.

I have a Geforce 280GTX O/C

I have tried endless things but nothing seems to work.

As far as I can work out Nvidia drivers no longer supports dual screen gaming and software like ultramon etc don't help either..

I have no problem extending desktop and wallpapers over both screens or using normal applications on both screens using windows 7 but just can't get any games to recognise the 3840x1200 resolution.

Would really appreciate some help...

I'm not familiar with any software solutions that work in Win 7 (does nVidia surround support your card?), but you can try using a Matrox Triple/Dual-head2Go. I've used a triplehead for years and has worked in xp/vista/7.
It's not as nice as the native solution:
-start bar goes across all screens
-flash video spans all screens in fullscreen mode (might be a hack to fix)
-native win-arrow key shortcuts don't work (can be fixed with autohotkey)

but the software they provide makes it nearly perfect.

They were expensive new, but you can find them cheap second-hand now that lots of people switched to eyefinity.
 
Are you sure you want to game on just two panels? Just about every game will be negatively affected by the dual bezels in the center. FPS games, MMORPG's, you name it. I'd suggest saving up for a third screen (probably another U2410) and upgrading your graphics card.

Yeah gaming on two screens will absolutely blow your mind in a sucky bad way. Like you will have a headache because it sucks so badly.

Get a third LCD and get a new Graphics card. Almost all AMD cards can do eyefinity, and a lot of Nvidia cards can with two cards in SLI.
 
Maybe he wants to play a game split screen. SoftTH might work with it, I'm not entirely sure.
 
Thanks for the replies, it seems there's more support if you have an ATI card as you have eyefinity and Nvidia used to support dual screen in there drivers but bizarrely now only 3d vision over 3 screens!

I'm just looking for some way of extending the desktop 3840x1200 in-game...
