hey i just got a small playstation 5" lcd and im ruinning it as a a secondary monitor (pics soon :p ) and im wonderign whats a good program to control each independly (resolution, background, etc)

i cant get that to work. when i install it, it just doesnt show up in program files like i never installed it

lol, it doesnt show up in program files.

after installation it shows up in your taskbar. (bottom right corner of your screen)

it looks like a little monitor

edit....... i still dont see it there. i tried searching for it and all i found was the installer and stuff from my history

and u really think i dont know what the taskbar is.

maybe if anyone has an older verson i could use that

or what about any other programs?

I think Ultramon is going to be the only answer you are going to get seeing as how it is the only answer I have ever really seen in all the multi-display threads over the years. There really should be a sticky that says to use Ultramon for multiple displays so that every other day we don't have a thread such as this one.

Have you tried configuring the display options with your 9800 to extend it that way. It can be done using Hydravision (part of ATI software that comes with your card if you didn't know) I believe but since I also use Ultramon I can't be totally sure. AMD T-type was pointing out where in the taskbar you could find the icon, not where the taskbar is located.
You could try googling for an earlier version as well. I am very interested in seeing your PS1 screen pics so don't forget. Where did you get and for how much too please.

yea im sure its installed but....

and after "installiation"

yea the software w/ the 9800pro is good but it doesnt do every thing i want to do

i dl's the 2.4 or whatever the verson was before it and it works awesome, thanx for the help guys

Windows XP. Both can be controlled just fine without the need to bloat your system with unneeded software.

To control the resolution: Right click on desktop, click properties, and hit the settings tab. There should be two pictures of monitors, one representing the primary monitor and one representing the secondary. Just click the one you want to change.

To change the desktop background on the second monitor: Find the file you want to use as a background. Right click on desktop, hit properties, click the Desktop tab, "Customize Desktop...", Web tab, then click New..., and click the browse button to find the image you selected earlier. Then hit okay or whatever, drag the image to the second monitor, and hit "cover monitor" or whatever it is (too lazy to see what the exact wording is, but you'll figure it out).

Whew, hope that made some sense... It's 8:17AM and I ahven't been to bed yet, so if it doesn't, then that's why.

Good night. :)

Nope, it's XP. My ATi system (9800 pro) does it, my girlfriend's nVidia system (ti4200) does it, and my secondary system that uses two really old S3 PCI graphic cards does it.

Just pointing out that it can be done without using third party software :)

i'll agree to that

Ultramon allows you to do way more than just windows XP alone

ultramon definitly is a lot better than XP. for one you can have a damn taskbar on each monitor so you can see what is one what monitor in the taskbar, minimize them to their bars, etc. right there it wins.

thats funny. you tell him not to bloat his system then you tell him to use the Active Desktop (whatever its called in XP). hilarious.
