ive searched all over the net for some info on this matter..

how much peformance would i gain using the 1mb cache...i wanan video and play games at the same...(well convert video to mpeg...)

just wondering becuz the 4400+ is $500 and the 4200+ which is same thing but 512kb is like 400$ (new egg prices)
or i could go for the slower clockspeed of the 3800+ for 322$...

you will gain some performance from the 1mb cache in games and probably nothing in video encoding. I have 2 x2 3800+ and they are more than adequate for me.
HL2 and DOOM3 with max setting never drop below ~50 fps, it is OC'd to 2.8Ghz and i am running a 6800GT at stock speeds.
 
I am going to say no. If you are a professional benchmarker (i love that line) then it may give you that slight edge.. but oh so slight.
 
While the cache is nice to say you have. I can't see spending $180 extra for it. The 3800+ also OC's decently well too. I had mine up to 2.5Ghz without too much effort.
 
why not get the opteron 165 or 170 for same or less money than the x2 and still get 1mb cache per core?
 
Why don't you check out the benchmark post I put up 2 days ago with the 512k 3800x2 vs 1mg Opteron 170.

And yes my Opteron is nice at gaming. A little better than expected.
