We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Driver Upgrading question

I built my gaming rig a few months ago and am still using the drivers that I first installed (I believe CAT 11.4). If I want to go to the latest version is it ok to install over the older drivers, or is it preferable to completely remove the old drivers and install clean?

Just more or less wondering best practices. Thanks!

Go to AMD.com
click on support and drivers
at the bottom are FAQs about just this question......http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

Generally......
download new drivers
in control panel go to programs
find catalyst and uninstall, using the uninstall manager.
let the uninstall run it's course and restart.

install the new Catalyst.

AMD generally recommends to install the whole package, drivers and CCC
don't forget to install the CAPs if you run crossfire.:D

Thanks for the link. I didn't see that part on the recommended steps. I just found a bunch of forum wars where people were saying X Y and Z. Usually, i'll get a straight answer here, so that's why I asked. It's been a few years since I've built a gaming rig and things have changed considerably!

Thanks again.
