Driver Crashes While Inhaling Computer Cleaner

Did you read it? All methane inahlation will result in is hypoxia.

Hoaxy as it gets.

Yes I did read it ... did you? Methane would be one gas inhaled another would be hydrogen sulfide.

But hey, if you want to totally ignore all 35 references on the wikipedia page including; the BBC report, the New York Times article, and the UNICEF report, all of which were written before 2005, and conclude that jenkem was entirely conceived by the rejects of 4chan ... so be it.

I am not a lawyer but I have this guy's defense already:

Your honor, my client was having difficulty breathing while returning from a shopping trip to Fry's. While attempting to make it to the emergency room, he began to use the canned air to help him breath, unaware of the danger of breathing "air" from a can. Even after wrecking his vehicle my client was still unable to breathe on his own and that is why he was still sucking on the can of "air" when the police and paramedics arrived on the scene. Had it not been for my clients quick thinking, he would be dead now.

It is at this time that I would like to file a formal complaint and lawsuit against the manufacturer for turning perfectly normal "air" into a highly addictive and hallucinogenic drug that almost killed my client causing him bodily harm, property loss and emotional distress after striking the family of three with his now "out-of -control" vehicle.

He had to be high to spend that much money on a Nissan with a body kit.

I used to do whip its.cleaner,no additives in it.
I really regret doing as many as i did,my memory hates me everyday for it.

What? All the cans I've seen have something like 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane in it, which I don't think gets you high. I think the stuff is fairly inert. Other than causing a lack oxygen, I don't think it does anything.

About a year ago I got carded buying compressed air at a Target. I heard the cash register ask me something I didn't understand so I asked what, she said she needed a drivers license. I couldn't believe it lol, just ridiculous.

That and I feel like I get looked at like a criminal now when I ask the pharmacist for the good cold medicine behind the counter.

I just love all the "Your in California, do pot" references here. If people didn't want to use mind-altering chemicals in the first place, there would be no need for ID checks on cans of compressed air and pseudo ephedrine. All you're doing is suggesting the use of one mind-altering chemical over another. That's certainly not solving anything. As long as people want to screw up their brains this sort of thing will just keep happening and happening. To all the pot-heads: Go ahead and post your rationalizations. I'll just ignore them as I always do. You just want to get high and don't care about anything else, so don't bother to start an argument with me. We won't convince each other of anything, so don't waste your time.

So I assume you don't drink either? Since its a mind-altering chemical?

Isn't this whole post trying to convince them? Then by your own logic, why did you even post it?

Not a hallucinogenic, mind-altering substance either.

Wow that was good dude.

Think I can fly you up to canada I got a speeding ticket I gotta fight in court and want you to represent me :)

So I just did the best I could to "clean my dam computer" ;) using ... compressed air. Cause it's all I have. The kind I got has Difluoethane CAS:75-37-6 and there's even an inhalant warning and a website for "parents". Which of course I normally wouldn't even have noticed - along with all the don't use in cabinets, closets, etc., that it's heavier than oxygen and will take its place ... I've just always used the stuff to try to clean up the normal once a month build-up of dust (yes I should do it more often, but ... )

Honestly I had NO idea people were using this stuff to get a buzz. Darwin Awards nominee list just keeps growing. We have the guy playing RL Frogger, the man in China who tried to "do it" with a metal park bench (truly) and people getting high on compressed air and then driving! Well anyone who does anything or takes a drink and gets behind the wheel is a Darwin nominee.

That is correct. I do not drink alcohol. I do not drink coffee. I occasionally drink some mild tea or pomegranate juice. Otherwise, water is just fine for me.

Isn't this whole post trying to convince them? Then by your own logic, why did you even post it?

That is my opinion. I am sharing it. That's what we do on message boards. People can agree with me, or not. I'm not trying to convince potheads of anything because I know they won't listen to me. I've heard it all before - it's harmless (medically untrue), it's natural (so is hemlock and molten lava), other stuff is worse (poison is poison), etc, etc, rationalization after rationalization, ad nauseum. For every point you raise about it being harmful they just find another excuse to keep doing what they're doing. That is why I don't bother trying to convince drug users of what they already know but live in denial of.

Now I understand the medical use of certain drugs, and I do know exactly one person that has to use marijuana medicinally, I understand the reasons and I agree in that specific situation. Medical applications I have no trouble with. The only reason I hate drug use is that people that use illegal drugs or use legal drugs in an illegal manner do not care about the well being of others. They want their drugs and damn the consequences. If it caused no risk of harm to others then I would have no reason to care. Morally I will always have reason object to it, but I do not force my morals on others. If someone wants to commit suicide slowly that's up to them, but as long as the potential to harm others exists then I can never in any way consciously condone recreational drug use. I've seen firsthand the damage that drugs do to people's lives, including alcohol. A very close friend of mine was a victim of a hit and run by a drunk driver with a drug history, and his cousin's ex-husband flipped a rolling meth lab with two toddlers in the back seat and nearly got himself and the tykes killed. So yes, I have damned good reason to feel as I do about this, and I won't be changing my opinion any time soon.

No point in drinking mild tea, if you gonna drink tea make it good quality Matcha.

LOL at trying to group marijuana in with meth or hell, even alcohol. Even bigger LOL if you think doing it is like commiting suicide slowly.

Right, it's always easier to mock those you disagree with instead of dealing with what they say. I did say I wouldn't change anyone's mind, so thank you for proving my point. It's too bad that the only pot head that I knew ever listened was one that had smoked from the time he was 17 and that by the time he was 40 and did finally listen he still had the mind of a 17 year old, didn't remember half his life, and regretted every joint he ever puffed because of it. He thought he knew better too... until it was too late to undo the damage, but who am I kidding? You won't believe me anyway. After all, to you it's just so LOL!

I buy both in California at regular stores without ever needing to show an ID. Don't blame us for your state's problems and overreactions.

Personally, I find medical marijuana hilarious. Sure it helps some people, and that's a good thing. Almost all the ads for dispensaries are targeted towards potheads and every person I've seen with a card is simply a pothead. Even with those things, I always vote to legalize it even though I have no interest in using it personally

I'm totally straight edge about drinking and drugs. I don't even drink soda anymore. But even I realize that the problem is trying to curb pot use, not the use itself. There are laws for driving under the influence and it doesn't matter if pot is illegal or mostly decriminalized. Same penalty. It wastes tons of money to incarcerate mere users and pot is in a very different category from other drugs like say meth and crack or even prescription drug abuse. Dealing any drugs though is very different and I feel the penalties are pretty much right, even for pot due to the social ills (which are not that strict here, since it takes a large quantity to trigger real jail time).

Nice irrelevant soapbox.

Let's see... the guy crashed his car while using a mind-altering chemical. I stated my opinions regarding the use of mind-altering chemicals. You may disagree with what I say, but I would hardly classify it as irrelevant.

That's a bit confusing... what is it you're buying besides compressed air in this case?

As for pot being in a different category... it's not up to you to decide what category it falls into. Categorization of an illegal drug is performed by scientists and lawmakers. For the scientific classification its effects are medically documented. Now you did have a chance in California to change the legal side of this, but the voters as a whole decided otherwise, so the fact remains that it is still a controlled substance courtesy of the democratic process. If you succeed at some point in passing a referendum legalizing marijuana possession and use in California then there is still Federal law to deal with as well.

There are other ramifications besides just jail time. Gaining and maintaining employment can still depend on passing or failing a drug test, and it is illegal to attempt to purchase a firearm if you use marijuana or any other drug non-medicinally. It seems that companies don't want their workers stoned stupid on the job and law enforcement does not want people playing with guns while smoking weed, and rightly so.

It wastes tons of money to incarcerate mere users and pot is in a very different category from other drugs like say meth and crack or even prescription drug abuse.
It would not waste tons of money if prisons had not been turned into luxury resorts for all intents and purposes. You want to save money? Start piling people in 6 to a cell with one toilet, give them bread and water to eat, no cable, no weight rooms (like we need stronger crooks), use tent cities... there are ways to save money, and prison costs really stray into a different subject altogether since it encompasses so many other factors. There are far more ways to lower prison costs than just legalizing marijuana use. If you're serious about lowering prison costs you'd pursue those in addition to or in place of legalization. Since the argument only appears when brought up by people defending pot use it's not about lowering prison costs. That's just a common fallback argument from those in favor of legalizing pot use, and a poor one at that.

As I said before, the only reason people want legalization is they want to smoke pot or in your case think people should be allowed to. You don't have to rationalize your position, I understand that is what you think. I simply think you're wrong on both an intellectual and emotional level. Can we agree to disagree on this?

Well, that's seems pretty obvious, the only other option is that people want legalization because they think people should NOT be allowed to smoke pot.

But that wouldn't make sense "on both an intellectual and emotional level" at all?
