• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I saw in this thread https://hardforum.com/threads/webhosting-change-email.1993130/ about keeping accounts (host/email) separate but my use case is slightly different. Looking to migrate from godaddy as well but all i am looking for is free email forwarding primarily as I don't run a website. I set up a forwarded address to bounce to my hotmail for sites that will not allow hotmail to be used. Suggestions?

Cloudflare has easy domain registration & free DNS administration. I think the email forwarding is free, too.

The main reason for keeping things separate can be security, but if you access all email accounts on the same computer anyways....if your compromised it wont matter.

Best solution is to use phishing-resistant MFA on accounts such as webhosting and other services where if someone were to comprimise you, they could do the most damage.

Most registrars allow one to host DNS wherever one wants to do so. Cloudflare is one of the few that forbid it.
What do you mean by this? I'm not hosting any DNS servers on their resources. Only using the record "hosting".

Registration includes the naming or selection of nameservers. This can be seen for any name by using whois. The nameserver results that appear in whois are usually the choice of the customer. This isn't really about a customer hosting his or her own DNS. It's about choosing a provider. With Cloudflare there is no choice. Does that help?

I use their default nameservers & don't have any custom named ones for them (currently have the free plan, so can't do that) or of my own. Was there a reason you mistook my statement for utilization of non-CF custom nameservers?

My statement remains true for anyone looking to register domain names & utilize their DNS records & zones for resolution.

I'll probably just renew with GoDaddy despite it being overpriced. It's already set up and working, doesn't look like there is another easy option out there or at least the information I can find is sparse.

I switched domains from GoDaddy to Cloudflare entirely in the past. Not hard to do IMHO.

Might be helfpul: https://vibecodingwithfred.com/blog/godaddy-to-cloudflare-dns/ & https://developers.cloudflare.com/registrar/get-started/transfer-domain-to-cloudflare/

I don't think there was a mistake. I was just pointing out a limitation. For example, out of my dozen or so names, only one or two use Cloudflare nameservers. That's how I want it: a deliberate choice. This setup is only possible by not registering at Cloudflare.

Ah... that's a different angle of approach that I wasn't even thinking about.

They do allow it with the Business & Enterprise plans though. https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/nameservers/custom-nameservers/
