video card issue - display wont work unless i use onboard video
Ok, i have a maingear dash. I know it's a prebuilt but bear with me.
I have a motherboard with onboard video memory and I have a PCIe card (ATI 2600XT I think). Anyway, when I plug my video cable into the PCIe card in the back, the display remains black (it does the analog>>digital thingy but then goes black) but the computer boots. I have tried this with both an analog VGA cable and a DVI one. (However I'm pretty damn sure I made it work at least once but it wouldnt work everytime). However when I plug it into the onboard video it always works. This sucks because I can't play games very well with the onboard video (ati 1200xt ). I went into the BIOS and checked to see which video card was selected, and it had the option SEG (and according to the mobo manual this means the PCIe card should be used first if installed).
My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM, my PCIe card is a 2600xt. The monitor I'm using is a Samsung 740b lcd. How do I make it work?
