hmm I play with my daughter also. You better off getting one of the Lego games to see how she reacts to it. There is also a Disney Adventures or something of that sorts that I play with my daughter on the PS3.

she doesnt like lego at all. But she dig all the disney char. Im asking specifically about disney infinity.

I'm curious too. The one most likely to be interested is still a little young to stay focused, but it seems like a possibility down the line. It seems like Disney saw Skylanders and wanted a piece of the pie...not that I've played that either.

Then go buy it and see if she likes it then. Read the reviews and so far they are mediocre at best, hence why I recommended other things.

Maybe the reviews are bad but my friend’s kids and their friends love it. Many of them sold most of their Skylanders stuff to pay for more Infinity figures.

Once they add Star Wars and Marvel (which is no doubly planned) I’m sure this thing will explode.

i was asking about disney infinity , not ''what game i should play with my daughter''. Mediocre at best? ok... from my selection of website i trust , they rate it 8/10 .

You're being obtuse arr4ws - read between the lines. Disney infinity is a decent game - albeit one that comes with a very steep price tag. It is like skylanders where you have the Pokemon "gotta catch em all" mentality - except catching them means forking over $10 per figurine.

What is being implied is that the game is expensive, and possibly outside the capacity of a 4 year old. Thus the suggestion to try other games that have the same playstyle (lego, skylanders, etc.) but without the money being spent on the figurines. This way you can gauge if it's good for her.

Now that said, the figurines are top notch comparatively speaking, and if Disney is your thing - it might be worth the investment just for that. Gameplay wise, there are jumping puzzles and whatnot in infinity which are probably just a bit too hard for a 4 year old. I have seen 4 year olds go to town on skylanders though, and they love the crap out of the silly hats. I think infinity is harder than the others in the genre, and more targeted at older kids (6-9ish?).

My vote would be to pass on Disney Infinity for a 4 year old. I think you can get more bang for your buck on other games.

Just dance - kids love this game
kinectimals if you have a 360 (yes i see you said PS3 - just throwing it out there)
Used skylanders original figurines (can grab the whole lot for a discount now)
lego games
rayman - kids love beating each other up, and dad can carry them through the levels
and of course nintendo anything - kids love mario

I own it, plus 15 character figures including a few limited edition ones. I haven't played it yet, nor opened it. Its a Christmas gift for my 4 year old son who has been begging for it since it was announced.

The reviews look solid, but importantly for me.. my wife wants to play as well as I. So this is a family venture, the stuff I saw at E3 plus recent reviews looks real good.

I bought it for my daughter as a gift for her birthday which we will give her next week. Reviews were good and got it on sale. The main selling point for me was the Toy Box mode which lets you create the world which my daughter is really into that kinda stuff. It's definitely a bigger investment than most games but it seems to be a quality product.

One thing I will disagree on is the difficulty factor. With the Toy Box mode you can basically just "fart around" and not really do anything. 4 year olds don't really care about objectives. One thing I found out with my youngest who is now 6 is that he doesn't like getting killed in any game or having to start over from a point.

Anyone who has this game who wants to trade power discs that you have multiples of, PM me. I want to trade the ones my son has extras of for ones that he doesn't have. I am going to join a forum specifically where people are trading but I'd really rather not join another forum if I can get it done here. Plus we all know how trading/selling works around here.
