I haven't used an ATI card since the 9200- so now that my 4870 is up and running, I'm acclimatizing to the catalyst control center and Hydravision. One of the contributing factors in my switch to ATI was that nVidia's multiple-monitor control application, nView, STILL isn't available for Vista. I thought that with Hydravision, I could get back two simple things- different desktop background per monitor, and a keyboard shortcut to switch a window between monitors.
Needless to say, I'm disappointed with Hydravision. For all the options it offers, it may as well not exist. Perhaps it's fully functional in XP? Either way, It's disabled now, consuming unnecessary disk space. Meh.
Ultramon's working great- though I wish I didn't have to go to a third party to get the sort of functionality I enjoyed out-of-the-box with nVidia in XP.
