I just wanted to get yalls general opinion on my situation. I have a 3.06 533 mhz bus p4 chip, and 512 megs of pc1066 samsung RD ram. Should i try to sell/trade these in and perhaps switch to the prescott core which, with my advnaced watercooling/tec set up i would be able to reach near 4 ghz with?

This comp is running the asus p4t533-c mobo, which is somewhat capable of an overclock, but i think its my ram thats holding me back from stellar results.

Any opinions/thoughts?

with your setup id just try to overclock what you got now, and hold out for the next gen of intel hardware. your system looks pretty powerfull as it is

What is really holding you back is the lack of the motherboard being able to go much higher than 533MHz FSB. You need to get an 800MHz based board to do better, but then again you would need to go DDR.

I don't think your cost vs. performance ratio would be too good on such an upgrade.

In my opinon your stock setup is pretty good. Even with running the 3.06 at default speeds. I would save that money for NV40 or R420.
