(DEAD) Intel Arc Pro B50 $340

Super interesting card for a tiny power sipping box. I’ve been eyeballing this one for a while.
do it! I am running one in my proxmox server and splitting it into 2 house with 8gb of vram. one for plex transcoding and other for windows 11vm for gaming. This is replacing my windows gaming machine. Running bc-250 setup as my daily desktop now

I have one of these in my Plex box, good card. Pleased with the purchase.

Do better ARC cards encode faster in programs like Handbrake or do all they all basically use the same QuickSync chip?

Not necessarily. The benefit of Arc graphics cards aside from LLM's is QSV AV1 encoding, but there's only a few video editing software that support it (like, less than a handful). For the cost, it does a good job of AV1 encoding for the price, and the only consumer graphics cards that beat out something like the Arc B580 is the RTX 4080, 5080, and 5090... but they cost a lot more. Some of the RX 7000 series from AMD do a decent job, but not as good as the Arc B580.

A have the A380 and it’s great for encoding in Handbrake but it’s using QuickSync (paired with the CPU QuickSync), so that’s why I was wondering if a better Arc card would still have the same core QuickSync chip.
