Well, my audio system has moved off of my computer and is now downstairs connected to home theater now that I have my own apartment.
Right now I have Grado SR225s as my primary output from my computer, but my soundcard is crappy, although it outputs (nearly) bit-perfect digital.
So I want to get a DAC/Amp combo to make my Grados really shine.
Any suggestions? I'd prefer something that:
1. Doesn't have a volume control
2. Optical In
3. No need for external power supply. Way too many companies seem to sell upgraded power supplies.
3. Switchable RCA outputs (in case I ever decide to pick up an amp for some speakers up here too).
The last thing isn't THAT important, I can deal with it if I have to. If I get the headphones good enough I probably won't get speakers up here, so
The amp is most likely going to be either a gilmore lite, or more likely a pa2v2. That should give you an idea of where my budget is.
