Is it me or does anyone else experience the Counterstrike BOTs to be as bad as online cheaters?! F**K I'm tired of it!

Can't play online because of rampant headshots, wall hacks, and crazy kills.

Can't play alone because of the same damn reasons. Since when will a shotgun make a head shot from half way across the map?!!?!? :mad::mad:

you might be playing with them set to a higher difficulty, i don't know what their different settings are but they are smart bots. they will aim for the head and fire in bursts. so maybe you suck at cs, or you're just used to playing with people who aren't very good.

No retard...I hold my own and have been playing CS for years now. A shotgun doesn't make headshots from the other side of the map. No one makes the kinds of shots these bots are making.

I've tried it on all settings from easy all the way up. On easy they're making impossible shots and wall hacking. the only real difference between the difficulty settings is their reaction time. I've noticed through out the settings that they make about a 65% head shot rate regardless of what weapon they are using.

When the bots are on easy and normal, its unfair to use a primary weapon. Only at the highest difficulty do they start to make crazy moves beyond human skill.
 
Well then something's wrong with my install as the ONLY difference between the difficulty levels is their reaction time. On easy it's funny to see some of them come face to face and both sit there for 1-4 seconds before either one of them fires.

This is just pissing me off. I mostly wanted to play alone to A) get away from the cheaters and B) improve my aiming skills. but this is rediculous. :(
 
i played with bots and they are pretty good but not impossible to play with.
 
I haven't played with the newest patch, but with the last patch they seemed just like aimbots. Once they had a visual on something, they aimer didn't move from the target and they tracked through walls and everything. The only thing that seems to change is the reaction time, like someone stated.
 
after u die, watch them in first person view. it is pretty funny how their cursor zips directly on someones head a mile away and stays on them while they run


those bots are pretty easy because they are so stupid, on all difficulty levels IMO, but damn can they make some impossible shots
 
OK So I'm not the only one seeing these things. While I'm happy on that note...it still pisses me off at times when they make those shots.

Watching them post death is where I've gathered most of my info from. With the exceptions of getting killed by shotgun by way of head shot from an incredible distance.
 
Yeah, they're pretty funny. I've watched them put a bead right on someon's head, and then stand there for 5 seconds and do nothing. Then I've watched them see a guy, then turn around and walk into him backwards only to get gunned down. But on the other end of the spectrum, I watched one do a 180 and headshot a guy jumping off of a bridge in midair, even though there was no way he could have known he was there. It's funny, theyre's no middleground with them. They'll either be really terrrible and do this stupidest crap, or they'll pull headshots out of nowhere.

Its just my opinion but at some point you take the training wheels off. If these people are content to play a game on toddler mode, and rack up kills with no skill what so ever, then they are truly sad indeed.

It is my belief that what makes one successful is that they are able to take pride in their accomplishments. If you are using cheats or hacks, you cannot infact take pride in anything you do.

If you use aim bots, hacks, or cheats, you really need to look at why you are doing so ?

If you are doing so to grief others..... you need to get a f$%#ing role model. It is sad that someone has nothing more to do then cheat, and ruin the fun for others.

If you are doing so because you suck .... well then use the offline bots to practice until you get better.

Here's how to have fun with bots: put 10-15 on the other team, yourself on one team. Give them nothing but knives. Trying doing this while using just a pistol. It's fun, and kinda creepy. :)

I completely agree which is again why I've resorted to playing mostly with these HackBots. :(
I do tend to hold my own in CS, usually at the middle to upper middle of the pack as far as kills go in any one game. But the cheaters piss me off more than the HackBots do. :mad:

I quit playing CS:S and HL2DM altogther ....

The last Time I played either, I was playing CS:S, dust, and Just as I got up the ramp (CT side) and started down the hallway, I got a headshot with a shotgun.

This being impossible .... frustrated me enough to wipe both games from my computer.

the bots are insainly good on the hardest dificulty. If you set then down a level or 2 it can be really fun. also if you want to have alot of fun get some hacks and the go against the bots with your hacks. my room mate and i put 25 bots on easy against us and had a rape fest with aimbot/wallhacks/recoil removals

Technically a head shot with a shotgun is possible but it would have to be at very close range.

no it doesnt. I have head shoted many people with shotgun at long distance (well mabey not many people, but it does happen). Just has to have 1 or 2 of the "spread" hit the head. But at such a distance they make the spread huge (like your barrel is 4in long :rolleyes: ). So it is rare that one will happen but it does happen.

The bots do act like aimbots. That is basicly what it is, a program writen to aim at the head. I just cant stand all the rooms that have bots in them now. Why all of sudden is it so popular to have ai in online multiplayer games. If I want to play against AI then I will play a SP game. I cant stand going into a room and there is nothing but bots. Server names should have bots in the title. But that is my only real grief with bots.

...been playing with the bots since the new updates and they are better or the same as anything else that's been made. they're just fine...4 now. we always want better AI

LOL Well I do need to jump around more...that's for sure.

While these bots may be "good" in your estimation they're a pain in the ass in mine. I don't mind good bots. Otherwise I wouldn't be learning anything. What I do mind is that super-duper-shove-a-shotgun-up-your-ass-from-a-mile-away type of bot. :p
 
Stop playing CS and move to a real shooter....one where when you shoot someone in the chest with 2 rounds from an AK47 they do what they would do in real life....die. Move to Rainbow Six 3, I have never had more fun with a shooter in a multiplayer setting. Cheating isn't nearly as bad as CS.
 
Okay, i do agree that cs isnt the most realistic game, but honestly people like it, so dont f*cking critize it. For some reason, half the population of nerds are the most cynical people i know. and second of all, bots are made for you to get better, they werent started so that you could have a fun time when you're away from your ethernet cable. I use bots all the time and i just get better and better. And about the headshot things....um...thats because they are smart, and its not really even intellegence, they're just programmed to target the most damage inducing hitbox.


Oh, and by the way, i love taking a break from "training" against bots to put on jason mode and just own them in dust. Most fun thing i have done in cs in a long time.
 
What I don't get is why it seems so easy for Epic to program good bots (Unreal Tournament 2004), but Valve seems to have so much trouble doing so? Hell, the bots in UT are often indistinguishable from normal players!

Man you've NEVER played any game ID's ever made have you? CS is a hellofalot more realistic than those are.
Granted, it's not perfect, but it's a lot more realistic than quite a few out there.

Good question, you think in this day and age they would be able to code something more imaginative than automated aim-bots. Maybe they're too busy working on TF2. :rolleyes:

Any programmer can make all-knowing AI. It takes a master to make AI that reacts according to true-to-life situations (IE, they can't see through walls/boxes/environments or immediately get a bead on a moving target's forehead).
 
Cant they just hire midgets or circus folk, hell even the homeless ... and just call them bots ?

anyway.....hacks are important for practice because it helps you to learn spam spots that you would otherwise not try. of course if you already know all the spam spots theres no point.

remember....assholism/cheating are all in proportion. say that in rainbow six you get a hacker/asshole for every 100 people. now compare the player base of CS and rainbow six.....obviously its going to be higher. not only that but CS is the standard for first person shooters so people are going to try and "beat the system" just for the hell of it. its the price you pay for playing the best.

hahahaha, i find it hilarious that you called me a cheater. i wrote anti cheats for counterstrike for about a year. go look up octinium...it was used by CAL for a while. its sad how bad people are that they accuse people of cheating. i would love to see the people that complain about getting hacked get owned on lan so they could sit there speechless at their own idiocy. believe it or not some people dont have lives and spend over 5 hours a day practicing cs....not on pubs either in team games (ie CAL and the like).

CS players are some of the most easily offfended gamers I know. I don't blame them either because you have to hyper-sensitve to scream at your admin that someone is using an aimbot. The fact that I like Raven Shield better is...guess what of all things....an opinion!

Oh yeah, and can you really compare any game that id has made against either Counter Strike or Raven Sheild....not in the same FPS genre.
 
you have to understand that most people are amused by you calling them a cheater. chances are if someone is really fucking good and you call them a cheater they'll go "yea i hack i use xogc". they're making a FOOL of you. also i didnt only use it for anti cheats. in order to be a CAL-I season 6 superstar me and my team would regularly turn on wall hacks in order to shoot at walls and see which ones actually penetrate.

*edit: SuX0rz maybe one day you'll learn that some people dont play counterstrike for public servers.....and when they do they are the admins. raven shield is fine if thats what you like, but CS is THE first person shooter. Thats why when you talk to people that play counterstrike they shrug you off like you're useless. ravenshield is a fun game....but this is just the way things are

i hate to break it to you but ive been around just as long as you and it doesnt mean shit. ive DONE more than you and have SEEN more than you and thats what counts. btw when we would use wallhack we would be in a server (all 5 of us) sitting in spots shooting at each other....not against other teams/people. retard.
