i get these 2 errors in the console when i just start to lag, but its not lag. it seems to be something else.

Performance warning: Mark bone 'ValveBiped.Bip01_L_Hand' in model 'player/terror.mdl' as being used by bone merge in the .qc!

Failed to load sound "player/pl_wade1.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository

can anyone help me solve this? thanks...

I would uninstall and then reinstall again and see if that cured it.

I get sound errors all the time, piece of crap.

As for the first error... no idea. If anything, I blame steam.

there is no fix to this? i remember readin a thread here that had fixes to some CS:S problems. i just got the game and just want to enjoy it...

Is it that the game sort of freezes for a few seconds? while the sound loops over for a few seconds?

I had this problem with steam also. First try switching vsync Off, second check to make sure your card isnt set to Opengl (check to make sure in HL2, that the renderer is set to D3D) . If it is OpenGL, switch it to D3d (Usually done by turning of Vsync in the vid card settings)

If that doesnt work, I know that one www.steampowered.com they have a solution with a 75% chance of fxing it, it requires you to install new drivers for your sound card or something. I didnt try it because switching to D3d (and turning vsync off) solved the freezing/sound loop problem.

where in cs:s can i find out if i have it set to opengl instead of d3d. i can't find it anywhere in the cs:s video menu. btw where do i find vsync? i have a 6800NU. thanks.

I think its an advanced, Im not sure..

Go to your Video Card Settings (right click on ur d-top, propertys, settings, advanced) and go to the tab that has the name of your card. Go to performance settings (maybe), just look for anywhere where You can turn Vsync Off.
