So I'm hoping that some people can post custom config files they're using - I know there is a thread on perf, but it is bloated (ALREADY!) I'm not getting the greatest perf, and I need to play around with drivers and all, but getting some custom configs would be great.

I'm on Vista 64/DX10..would some of the configs from Crysis work for Warhead?

Heres the Set of Configs i use

The link has both DX9 and DX10 Configs :)

And heres some shots of it

They're roll over images, so the first image is DX9 Enthusiast and when you rollover it shows it running in DX9 Custom Config.

Enjoy! :)

I like the improved textures you've got on the mountainside on the beach level...but I can't say that I'm sure about the trees. I think they look a little better blurred. I'll have to try to see. :D

Question:

r_HDRRendering = 2

Why 2? Tweakguides says this goes from [0,1] - did warhead change something? I guess I should run Crysis windowed and see what in game help says.

Speedy, just wanted to thank you...with 4870x2 now I can enable 2x AA and still get frames in the 40-50 range. I tweaked your config a bit to add back a little motion blur and a few other things, but for me it is a good trade off. I never would have taken the time to do such a good job without your file to start from.

THANK YOU.

Why not just link to the CCC page on incrysis? Just looked at your config, it's right out of CCC.

yes, i did make the basis out of CCC, but i did go in and change a few settings, mostly for performance increase on the 4870 x2. i also added a new more options, which i dont believe are in the config posted.

What res is that at?

For me, without this config, using the benchmark tool here:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=273935

I get:
DX9, Enthusiast, 1680x1050, 0xAA, Avalanche
Play Time: 98.77s, Average FPS: 31.84
Min FPS: 20.99 at frame 1188, Max FPS: 46.58 at frame 737

DX10, Enthusiast, 1680x1050, 0xAA, Avalanche
Play Time: 104.78s, Average FPS: 30.01
Min FPS: 20.50 at frame 1184, Max FPS: 45.70 at frame 734

DX9, Enthusiast, 1680x1050, 2xAA, Avalanche
Play Time: 112.38s, Average FPS: 27.99
Min FPS: 17.94 at frame 2049, Max FPS: 38.78 at frame 747

DX10, Enthusiast, 1680x1050, 2xAA, Avalanche
Play Time: 123.10s, Average FPS: 25.55
Min FPS: 16.68 at frame 2054, Max FPS: 38.24 at frame 751

I'm running the XG 177.92s, which seem to have helped a bit. Can't wait for new drivers from NV to help more.

Ramp, I will give it a try after work today...benchmark numbers to follow...

BTW I play at 1920/1200 with 2x aa and the modified config. In ccc everything set to high or to use game settings, aa set to box.

OK...Sorry ramp but when I try to load the custom config in the benchmark tool it gives an "error loading file" msg. I tried renaming the system.cfg to system.config but I cannot get it to work.

In any case for the sake of comparison I ran the benchmark at 1680x1050 DX 9 with 2xAA on the default flythrough map and enthusiast settings: Min 12, Max 56, Avg 30 (rounded to closest integer)
