Couple quick questions...

I'm sure this has been asked many times, but my searching skills are escaping me at the moment... Anyone know of a reputable e-tailer (or, fuck it, I'm not afraid of Radio Shack) that I can get a switch for my headphones and speakers? Like, so I can have both of them plugged in at the same time, but be able to hit a switch or something when I'm using the headphones and have the speakers kick on (start having sound come out of them, and cut the headphones off). I've been looking for one for like an hour or so and I'm out of ideas. I know I've seen one somewhere for like $15 or something. I don't really wanna spend lots of money on this if I don't have to.

Oh yeah... one more thing... I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-280's and I'm thinking of getting an inexpensive but decent headphone amp so my PC audio is somewhat better... any suggestions? Thanks, y'all.

I would suggest you build yourself one of tangent's mint amplifiers for those cans.

You do realize the amp would make the switch a moot point right?

Well, I did go out and buy that switch from the shack, but my soldering skills are literally non-existant. I've never soldered a damn thing and I don't think that this would be a good project to start on, especially since I don't know a resistor from a transistor. Maybe, since I'm still recovering from surgery at home I can browse around google some more for a somewhat inexpensive amp.

As a side note... I went to 6 local stores, including 2 Radio Shacks, and asked for the two above items and the headphone/speaker switch really confused them. Neither store even knew they existed, let alone they sold them.

Honestly, you might want to give it a try: its a good learning experience and if you choose a cheap parts list and do indeed screw up the amp, you don't lost that much money. Give it a thought.
