anyone know the command to put in the target line in counter strike source shortcut to use a custom resolution???

1600x1200 with a 65hz refreshrate is not cutting it... i get like 100 fps and tearing makes it looks like its lagging.. but it's not...i can do 1600x1024 with 75hz... but i can't seem to find this resolution in the counter strike control panel.... thnx
 
Use Rivatuner.

When I found Reforce wouldn't work for CS:S, I just made a custom refresh rate setting in Riva Tuner for my resolution of choice. In my case, 1024 x 768 was only doing 85Hz until I forced 100Hz.

I'm assuming you have a 19" or large A.G. CRT that can physically support 100Hz @ 1600 x 1200. My 17" only does 16x12 @ 76Hz.
 
well... i have a 6800ultra that does go up to 100 fps .. not constant but it does go up there.... and when it does.. i get tearing... but when i turn vsync on....my fps drops in half in de_aztec in teh water... and i do not know how to turn on triple buffering for direct3d either.... but is there a way for counter strike source to recognze my custom resolution? it only sees 1600x1200 and 1280x1024......and i have a viewsonic a90f+ 19incher...
 
Yeah if your frame rate can't match the refresh rate when v-sync is enabled then it will try and match half the value, and then 1/3 etc. The water is a real killer in CS:S and so the underpass in de_aztec is likly to run at half the FPS.

Theres several lists on the CS forums for CVAR's but resolution doesnt appear to be in any of them, although its probably possible via a switch.

Its probably not the best solution, because you're going to be breaking the 4:3 aspect ratio like all the fools who use 1280 1024 on a 4:3 monitor :)
 
thnx for the suggestion u guys...i found out that source let me change the aspect ratio..but it was for widescreens hehe...ill stick with 1400 with 75hz refresh :)
