I have about 1/2 saved for this setup and will get it soon. I'd appreciate any suggestions to make it better. It's mostly for gaming and I will be overclocking it asap :)

Antec Performance 1 P180B
Corsair HX520w
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F
ASUS P5B Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Scythe SCINF-1000
CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400
BFG Tech BFGR79512GTOCE Geforce 7900GT 512MB
SONY Black 1.44MB 3.5"
Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFDRTL
Pioneer DVR-111D
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

I would suggest that 2 SATA 3.0 GB/s drives in a raid 0 would be a better choice than the SATA 1 raptor and you could put $100 back in your pocket or use somewhere else.

This Crucial Ballistix kit is cheaper and just as good as the corsair, if not better. If you have the cash for the raptor, then go for it... but your money is better spent on a raid array like billparish suggested. If you don't really care for raid, then just stick to a seagate 7200.10 320gb hdd, which is pretty fast by itself, for half the cost of the raptor, and double the space.

instead of the corsair 520w psu i would go for gamextreme OCZ 600w

if you are planning on OCing well you have a really nice combo with the mobo and cpu. you can aim 3.6 - 3.8ghz on air with that setup.

for the ram; I AM DEFINITLY recommanding getting TEAMGROUP ram from tankguy.biz .

http://www.tankguys.biz/ddr2-44410-800mhz-p-1645.html

this ram can do DDR1000 really easy. go on xtremesystems.org and do your research on this ram you will be pleased by the results.

For the video card. get a 7950GT. its cheap and better then 7900GT.

ty for the advice. I haven't kept up on my vid cards lately so I'll switch to a 7950gt. The raptor I really want because i don't really have the need for that much space. If anything i'd rather adda drive for storage later. Do I really need a bigger ps? I don't plan on ever using SLI.

I didnt know corsair made PSU's. Go ask in the PSU subforum about that particular model, and see what those guys think. They also have a recommended PSU list as a sticky on there, check it out. It's more about quality and amperage ratings than just wattage requirement.

actually I did and a few other places. I've heard only good things about it. Plus it's modular :)
