One reseller told the INQ he'd been pestering distie Synnex for shipments but was told he'd just have to wait. He said: "We were told the CPUs are reserved for tier one customers like Dell, HP, Alienware and Falcon." ... Prices on the newer CPUs from Intel have also risen, he alleged.
I'm still hoping that Conroe CPUs will be more available for build-it-yourselfers around August 7. Although you can buy in-stock E6300 right now for a 35% markup (mwave.com) if you buy it with a mobo, and a bit more if you buy just the CPU.
Then again, it could be that August 7 is just the start date for the official marketing blitz for E6300 to E6700 based systems from Dell, HP, and all the gaming PC vendors. What do you think?
