Command and Conquer: The First Decade

oh wow.. and EA will actually get some of my money. I've enjoyed RA2 and Generals for some time now... it will be nice to have the expansions

P.S.: Thank you for the bump!

EDIT: Just to clarify, the release date is 2/10/06.
No problem, I want all C&C fans to know whats going on with their fav games.

Thanks I couldn't see the release date but I did find the ship date, now you can technically get it if you got friends in certain stores/places.

Multiplayer original Red Alert owned. Nothing every beat it. And with the updated one coming out to work on Windows XP, no more ghetto emulating seriel ports.

Now, if they could get around to ending the C&C story, I'd be overjoyed. Anyone heard anything about Tiberian Twilight?
(I'm just afraid it will take as long as Tiberian Dawn -> Tiberian Sun. :( )

Did they say what the MSRP would be? I didn't feel like reading through an entire article in that obnoxiously cramped font.

I think I saw $37.99 over at the egg. I wouldnt' expect much lower for now.

Don't forget, you're getting like a dozen high-quality games(they were high-quality way back when, so don't complain). Sure they're not recent, but that doesn't mean they're no longer fun or interesting!

Westwood > all

God, I cant begin to count how many hours Ive invested in this series.

Tesla coils are my hero

Telsa Coils own all your troops. I love that series. I may have to go and buy them again.

You know, these better come with one sweet boxed CD case. I already have like 20 C&C CD's... I don't want to have to fit in 20 more ^.^

(Not that I'd complain long if I had to)

Until I shut them all down with a single spy...

Man, I loved the C&C games, esp Red Alert.

Why can't I remember the Soviet counterpart to Tanya?

Probably cause Tanya was so HAWT!

....Mmmm... remembering the days of the Cyborg Commando + 4 Engineers in the Subterranean APC. Or how about Disruptors on Carryalls? Man, Firestorm had to be the most tactical of all the C&C games. At least in a long battle.

Its not DVD it comes with a bonus dvd.

Do your research before talking

"The ultimate collection features 12 Command & Conquer™ games on a single DVD."

Excuse me for reading their news site and seeing only "Bonus DVD" through out.

Lol, I LOVED that spy!! I also liked the commandos that could swim. I can't wait to play online with these games. I already own every single one of these games, most of which I have bought twice at least, but I have bought RA2 at least 4 times that I know of.

I picked this up yesterday, and started my conquest. Wowzers, I forgot how cool this stuff can be :). I only got as far as the 3rd level on the original C&C, but woot, I can't wait to play more!

Just an FYI -- A FULL install of all games weighs in at approximately 10gigs (9.7 I think). I had to clear some HD space for that. I bet it goes down significantly if you don't install the Generals and Renegade games.

I just upgraded a bit to play newer games.

Doh! Could have saved some money. This will keep me busy for a long time.

No online play for older games.
I think the games still reference to the now defunct "Westwood Chat" game browser when you click the internet button.

EA official response:
"If you are getting an error while attempting to connect to online services, and you get a message prompting you to install WChat from the CD, follow these directions. WChat does not come included with the First Decade. Please note that WChat is no longer supported by Electronic Arts. Please direct all help requests to http://www.strike-team.net/ where you will find active community forums"

linky

You also cannot play in a window or change resolutions for older games, so if you have widescreen, everything will look kinda weird.

:/

EA cash grab.

Some times you can change the inf file to get bigger res. I know you can do it for Tiberian Sun/Firestorm.

how do you speed up the game in generals?
that game is so god damn slow. Your tanks move like snails, your infantry can run twice as fast (and that is still slow).

Can we navigate the map via the arrow keys now? It makes things easier when you can click on stuff with your mouse while moving with the keys. Instead of moving with your mouse while trying to coordinate things... ><

My Best Buy sucks. They didn't have it. Going to have to order it online and pick it up.
