COD4 single player- 2 Words....

Well its a good thing that no real money is involved because otherwise you would be that much poorer.

Trying playing it on the hardest difficulty and then come back and tell me you don't mind when an enemy pops out of nowhere to rub you out when you are literally 2 seconds from a save point.

And why play on harder difficulties you ask? Because I cannot stand the use of infinite health (one of the worst contributions ever made by Halo to the fps genre).

I have played every iteration of COD, I was under no misapprehension that COD4 was first and foremost an arcade shooter. I was not after a military simulation, but that being said that does not mean I should just accept shitty game play mechanics and features which just scream consolitus (fixed save points, infinite health)

All fair points. I guess the game wasn't for you, then.

I thought the single player was pretty boring. I felt like everything was the exact same. AI was pretty terrible. If I had a problem I'd just die a couple times and memorize the movements of the enemy when they'd roll where they walked and get by.

The most fun part of the game for me was the little mission after the credits.

I'm probably not a fair critic as this game type isn't my cup of tea. Glad everyone else seems to like it though, but not sure why its particularly different from other games of this nature.

Infinitely spawning enemies creates a sense of urgency. If you don't make progress you run out of ammo. They stop spawning if you just go through the game.

I loved CoD 4, after not enjoying big red one, I had my faith restored in call of duty.

Damnit, you beat me to IT!!!! Yeah try replaying sp on regular once again and not get bored by it. I initially thought cod4 sp was one of the best straight up action fps ever so I figured that i would keep coming back to it just replay some missions for fun. Damn, I could't have been more wrong; another run on regular mode was already too repetitive and boring so I bumped up the difficulty a notch. All that did was just make the AI respawn faster and aimbot me right in the head constantly. Veteran just ruined it for me b/c of the ai respawn/ aimbot fest it unleashed in the game. The infinite ai respawn especially pissed me of whenever I got pinned down and couldn't move an inch out of cover b/c I would get shot in the head right away. Beating veteran Act I was enough for me; burning time through countless trial n error just to get to the next save wasn't fun at all anymore.
