Shows demo, smattering of applause. Graphics are so good now we've come to expect it- nobody really cares anymore.
 
Looks like double RT performance, 1.5x raster performance jump from 4090, just like 3090 to 4090.

It was the obvious landing spot for the 5090 cost. Imo

vegeta535 yeah that tiny PCB worries me a little lol. The power and keeping all components cool for long gaming sessions. It’ll be interesting to see what PCB designs the AIB partners come up with.
 
It's clear that there will be a few models Nvidia will release between the 5080 and 5090. At this point I'll probably get a 5090 but I won't be upgrading for a long time after that.
 
I am good with my 4080s til the 7xxx series at this point in my life TBH. I don't do much gaming anymore.

Jensen and the slides gave zero context with that claim. Even more dubious is a 5070 VRAM capacity. They are pushing the AI TOPS metric hard right now.
 
That PCB size is insane. "only" 2x performance claim is interesting if DLSS FG is making 3 fakes frames now instead of 1.
Shut up and take my money I guess. Hope availability is similar or better to the 4090.

also means the power draw has to be pretty low. i'm not a fan of 350w+ gpu's heating up my office let alone 500 that was rumered and flying around today.

Yep, 2-slot cooler means it must run nice and cool.
 
Blackwell's AI in shaders could be interesting. I mean, it already works for generating screen pixels, why not texture pixels? If AI can generate an equivalent texture with 1/4th the VRAM cost, why not?

:ROFLMAO: No. Did you even watch the presentation about the new tech, or look at the raw specs even? It's like the jump from 3090 to 4090 which was ENORMOUS, 75-100% depending on situation.
 
I think I’ll wait for some more interesting AIB variants to come out before pulling the trigger …

We've seen Zotac, Gigabyte, and ASUS versions of the 5080 so far, and they're still using their ridiculous 3+ slot coolers. I would expect it will be the same on their 5090 variants. FE will be where it's at. I am already done with these obnoxiously large coolers.

It seems like their plan is to rely on DLSS … doesn’t feel like a great path forward.. idk... it definitely causes an IQ hit.. it’s neat and all… maybe it gets better.. seems like another compromise for FPS over IQ. That said it is very cool but I’d rather not run it unless I have to.

I mean, what number Nvidia puts on a slide vs what you'll actually need to separate with in order to procure a product are two different things.

Or tariffs. If that shit happens the resale value of our cards goes up.. but that’ll hurt those 5070 5080 5090 prices. The jury is out for now though.
