I know that they will not optimize for so such small fraction of cases, but they can test them in such position (they don't need rotated case, they can rotate normal case when running benchmark and see the impact ;-)
I also know that nVidia reference designs works, but until somebody needs Cuda, linux users usually prefers AMD cards (because drivers source code is available, so community an fix themselves rare bugs and they doesn't lag after Xorg/wayland/kernel changes like nVidia). AMD drivers (even for 20 years old cards) are still maintained by community(or even by AMD or Redhat devs if they still got hardware), while nVidia often abandoned cards in drivers(moving them to legacy branch, so only useful under old LTS distros and only for another 2-4 years) only after two years after release(while OEMs made and sold those cards for few more years and they were seating on the shelves for another few years in shops)
But I understand that while linux users are niche and even 90deg rotated cases users are even more niche. And combination of them are less than percent of statistical error ;-)
AMD card sucks not only beause current gen coolers doesn't work when rotated, but also because they stopped using blower-type cooler in consumer cards, because typical consumer case has poor airflow :-/
I have writed email to ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI with ask, to make tests in 90 degree orientation, with video outputs facing up - resoult is worse than i expected. Only MSI made test, but with PCI riser (they did not understand my ask) and dont want to re-test it, their answer is also unclear, as they stated, GPU is working with same temps as horizontal mounting (so they mounted it horizontal-vertical instead just vertical). I told them about problem, cases with such layout and thats what we have....
Gigabyte did not tested cards, they replied just they guarantee their cards work ok, and if user meet some trouble, he can write to gigabyte support.

I saw on some small case with vertical laout GPU compatibility list, and there was listed OVERHEATING GPU's in that orientation. It seems nobody care, and users ends up with hardware failured, or DIY fixes without any support, or... Spend MORE money for swapping GPU's or cases further.

That's why I've asked Tony Ou to ask 'em all, because they will thread so famous manufacturer representative with much more respect than individual user like you (because they can put such cards on oficcial 'compatibility list' increasing card sales for them)
While it's nice that Silverstone makes such niche and problematic designs available for consumers (I prefer to have choice to buy something, even if it's problematic), but I have feeling that Silverstone is leaving consumers alone with this problems.
And while I understand that don't have resources for such niche case to test it themeselves and they cannot force vendors to make this test, Silverstone can ask kindly GPU vendors to that(giving them instruction how to mount GPU and rotate case properly, because as vlad_8011 proved us, they can scre even that), and post results on webpage, with "vendor denied testing" if it was the case.

You can even rotate the case and lie it on the back...it will be compatible with all GPUs then, and spill-proof (no more vents on top)
Even maybe Tony Ou could be so kind and put it on the official FAQ, that in case of GPU overheating problems (caused by rotated case design) ,case owner can rotated the case or watercool GPU and provide distances(for the back of the case, to bent ables for small fee (or optionally case could be lied on the front, but then they would provide additional power button kit (to mount it on the bottom of the case [Like rotated TJ11 got two of them in standard. Now I know why ;-]
Sounds irrational? Yes, but at least it will semi-solve the problem ;-)
I've been waiting in EU for Alta F1 as long as this thread has existed. Will order as soon as it is available. Many eshops deliver freely inside EU.

Or they could make another triple 180mm fan case again that has the graphic card mounted horizontal-vertically, like most modern cases attached by a riser cable.

What is modern in that? There were non-rotated Silverstone cases from Fortress, Raven and Temjin series, but no one looked like FT02.
you've simply created over-complicated case, that's totallly impractical. It will be as big as FT02(or even bigger), wasting more space than TJ-11 probably. Risers can cause problems too.
I really love how FT02 was executed. It was nearly perfect case then, and it still is. All I would like to change is to have more more expansion slots, a bit more space for longer GPUs and on the back of the case for cable routing.
It's the nicest case ever. 5.25" FTW!

The modern aspect come with the removal of useless 5 and a quarter nonsense, a separate power supply compartment that can house radiators or 5.25 drives for those that don't know any better, or 3.5s. The graphics card slot can also be moved up to accommodate a thick 85mm rad with push pull 180s. And finally it s equipped with a proper full tempered glass side panel.
I guess our ideas of cases are different besides the ft-02 being boss. I just whish I could have one that's newer.

I wouldn't call it newer...especially FT02, because it's not FT02 (it's stylized a bit after it).
Rotated design is newer than not (FT01 was not rotated, so it's downgrade for me).
Silverstone uniqueness of FT02, TJ11 or RV01 is because of rotated design. If you want standard, you can buy relatively cheaper other similar cases. Lian Li made many high quality with elegant look (like FT02), that are relatively cheap 2nd hand. I've considered buying them, until I saw FT02 somewhere by accident (and fallen in love with it).

I've had my ft02 for 10 years. I can't bring myself to get any other case. I really wish they would just update one.
So why not use FT02 still?
I dont understand what you define as 'modern' case.
- lack of 5.25 bays? Agree that most people don't have use of it(albeit I still love them)
- lack of 3.5" hdd bays? Most people use SSD or dedicated NASes, but I'm bit old-school.
- RGB^H^H^HARGB thats insane reason.
You wrote about modern position for GPU. It's only for showcase(of pricey GPU with big radiator and usually RGB Fans) and in most "modern" cases GPU temps got higher when mounted in such position. It's simply useless blink (Awww....you have to pay for riser separately in 99% of cases). It's the reason for FishTank cases like PC-011, that are loud as hell(cannot be dampened and glass is hard material, so...), but all ARGB fans are perfectly visible...
Any why limit yourself to silverstone's cases only? I have Silverstone cases exclisively. But it's Accident, because I bough GD01-MX 15years ago. Recently wanted to buy Lian Li case, because my cheap cases had problems to fit all HDDs safely and Vega64/Radeon VII, but I found 2*FT02 and TJ-11 month later ;-)

I simply can't find another case that ticks all the boxes for me. I want a large case. I want a left side case. I want good air flow. I don't want 5.25s.
Nothing comes closet to even approaching my ft-02 in air flow, even with its 10 year old fans. Also people have had bad experiences with the gpu mounted vertically. So why not get rid of the useless drive bay metal and put the graphic card down there? I will 100% GUARANTEE that 180mm penitrators blowing air directly up the graphic card will have no thermal problems whatsoever. And you should be showing off your $1000 parts. Especially if they are ment to be with all the argb embellishments.
So it taught my self cad, and made a design. It'll cost at least 1200 to get made. So I'll just dream away.

As I love and still use my FT-02, I have really been looking forward to this case since CES 2020. But, I am not thrilled with the 3-pin fans included. Is there any chance of a either a no-fans or PWM-fans option? Thank you for all your hard work on the case. It looks beautiful.

No plans to introduce more versions of ALTA F1 at the moment unfortunately. But those new Air Penetrator fans are good and respond well to DC voltage change if you want to control their speeds.
No further updates on the S1, project still in suspension.
Really wanted the quiet version without glass, but this will do for sure. Are there plans to release the metal panel as separate purchase?
I'm pretty sure the aluminium panel wont be available ever, since it has even been scrapped from the website, only a few picture still show it. But I would buy it too if it were available at some point in the future.
If you're like me and live in the UK, caseking.de doesn't ship here. Any plans to work with UK retailers before I ship the case to a friend in Hungary, pay another ~£40 to ship to UK and then have to pay import tax and VAT?
Caseking.de owns Overclockers UK so you may want to check with them too. We are still monitoring demand and weighing our options at this time. Nowadays not that many distributors/resellers are confident selling a $299 PC case!
Looking forward to getting one of these. I'm thinking of getting back into a watercooled setup with this, because I like the idea of having an "external" radiator (outside the mobo area) that uses exhaust flow while having it still inside the case.
Been out of the watercooling loop for awhile though. Anybody have any recommendations for pump and reservoir combos? I'm considering the tube+pump top combo from heatkiller, because i've also been looking at the 360-L rad.

Not sure only about ASUS TUF, some say they dont have problems, some say rotating case on its back is not a problem.
But FE of RTX 3000 seems to be good compromise, between aesthetics, cooling performance and loudness. Int theory it should not have problems, as some mounted it in NZXT H1, but want to be sure.
I dont know how those YTbers fit those cards in those cases and then show slides with temps at 70 degree, while over reddit there are people witch such cases and 110+ degrees Celcius.

We have the RTX 3090 FE and that works just fine in the ALTA F1, so RTX 3080 FE should be no different. Please also keep in mind that NZXT H1 is likely not a good barometer of how well the ALTA F1 will cool despite it being the same 90 degree rotated design. The ALTA F1 will have vastly better cooling performance.

Any news on distribution in the US?
Although CaseKing messed me about for a while, I eventually received an Alta F1. Transferred my system from my Raven 2 into its new home and everything works fine, save for the front ARGB strip, which froze in a static blue-red display when I first turned the system on. Reboots and power resets haven't worked, nor does my MB's RGB Fusion detect it, so sadly I have been forced to disconnect the strip.
Temperature wise it keeps my PC cool averaging in the mid 30's Celsius, at an ambient room temp of 21 degrees. When playing Cyberpunk 2077 at 3340x1440 max settings and ray tracing on, my Asus TUF 3090 runs in the low 50 degrees (see GPU Tweak screen capture below).

Why is your GPU not running at higher clocks, got the game capped @ 60 fps?
60 fps is all my monitor can handle. Not a problem for me, since I started the PC revolution by soldering together a ZX-81 as a teenager. Now that I am an old geezer, running games at 120 or 240 fps is a complete waste of power and places undue stress on components. I simply don't have the reflexes I once did... and to be honest, having started at the dawn of text character gaming, I am already in gaming nirvana. Oh, and I also like not frying in my office whilst my computer acts like a space heater! 
My rig is actually build for running DTP software hogs like Adobe InDesign, where making a column edit or art layout change in a 200+ page book can bring even the most powerful PCs to their knees. Smoothness for me comes from not having the rig hang when inserting a CR, not in 100+ Hz refresh rates.

So Asus TUF and NV refference models are confirmed to work in that orientation. I have linked this thread in many places, please - if anyone have bought Alta F1, post your resoult here, specially with GPU temps. It looks like nobody care about this issue, and its gonna be the only database for future Alta F1 and GPU users combined.
