I'm in the process of cleaning up my C drive and I was noticing some mining/wallet folders that were pretty big...

In AppData\Roaming\Dogecoin there is a folder that's named "blocks". And it's over 3GB in size...

Do I have to save this information? 'Cause I don't want to...

You only need to save the wallet.dat file. Everything else can be replaced (re-downloaded). That's what sucks about the more-secure wallets, they take a ton of space.

Yeah, the wallet.dat is the only thing you need to keep. In fact, I can keep it safe for you if you'd like. :)

... and remember your password because it should be encrypted.

its the blockchain, if you want to spend money from your wallet using the vanilla software of any crypto currency you need to have an up to date blockchain. Last time I went to spend BTC the blockchain was up to ~15GB iirc.

There are some wallets that don't need the whole block chain, I think armoury is one, but that's BTC only afaik.

For backing up, yeah, wallet.dat is all you need.
