I replaced some old server recently, including the one that stores my users documents, which are redirected through group policy. All is working well, except in the Synchronization screen on the XP clients, the old server is still listed. I can uncheck it, and the sync will run properly to the new server, but how do I delete/remove the olderserver name, so only the newserver name shows?

Is this something I should be downloading and using the csccmd.exe tool for?

I hope I'm describing it well enough. The docs are synching to the new server just fine, but as long as the old server is listed, their systray icon is telling them they are offline., so i want to clear out the old server's name, so only the correct, new server shows.
 
yes, that is exactly what csccmd is for.

we had that issue a while back, and I used that to fix it.
although I can't remember the command(s) used. It took a few tries to get it figured out on the first laptop, then of course the rest were easy.
 
I just did one remote computer, and it worked. I ran the command, it added the entry for the new server, and I was able to start her synchronization process.

Now, does that same tool have an option for removing old entries?
 
sure can!

/DISCONNECT:\\Server\Share – Use this switch to disconnect a specific server from Client Side Caching on the client computer. Use the \\Server\Share format to specify the name of a specific shared resource of a server that you want to disconnect. For example, use the following command:

I about did the same thing (go bald) when I went through the same thing.

took forever to find the documentation, but of course saved the bookmark with the tool :)
