i got thies antistatic cleaning wipes from wallmart, before i use them I want to make sure they wont melt my LCD.
says it contains: water, isopropyl alcohol, glycol ethers and surfacants. is it safe?

those 2 togheter will be more than enough to clean a LCD screen dont bother buying wipes, use papper towels and water/ISP alcohol untill dry just my .02$

Get yourself a "Micro Fiber" cloth. They are used for buffing cars, eyeglasses and things that you dont want to get scratched. If you want, use the cloth with a 50/50 water and isopropyl acohol solution. Its what i use and it works great. Try not to use a paper towel though, some brands will scratch.
 
arg, those wal-mart wipes are a huge waste. I bought a tub of them for my other monitor only to find that I needed a seperate cloth to remove the residue they leave.. Also alcohol and LCD should never be in the same sentence together. Alcohol is highly corrosive to plastics. Do yourself a favor and buy a microfiber cloth and some non-alcohol based cleaner specifically designed for LCDs.

I thought the same thing, but some people swear by the stuff. Many people recommend a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. I just started using Endust for electronics, and it seems to work alright, it does, however, leave some streaks

Yep I've dipped the end of the softest t-shirt i had in some warm water and it worked great.
 
Surfactants in this context is a fancy word for detergent. Since the actual chemicals aren't listed specifically, who knows what you'd be using on it.

No alchols or ammonia that take of any antistatic or whatever coating your LCD or other monitor screen may have. I highly reccommend buying that and a microfiber lintfree cloth. Another vote for klear screen. It's great stuff. But be sure to dry it immediatly or you'll get streaks.
 
That Klear is suspose to be good. I use the monster screen clean that I picked up at compusa but is prob also at any retail store that sells monster cable. Same type of stuff as klear. This stuff works great. I use it on my 23 inch apple screen and on my notebooks all the time.

Another vote for this. Klear Screen and all that other shit is a big waste of money. Water and a soft cloth will clean even the dirtiest LCD. Unless you're getting engine grease and bodily fluids on your screen in which case you might need other help.
