The easiest ways to cash out all involve converting your weird coins to BTC. Once in BTC you have options.

Shopping:
overstock.com
tigerdirect.com

Gift cards (gyft.com):
Amazon
dell
target
burgerking
tons of places

CASH:
coinbase --> bank account

Those are the only places I use. You will not reliably get money to paypal or other places. I will if a person has enough heatware buy stuff from people using BTC but you have absolutely no way to get a refund and will be SCREWED if a person decided not to ship the item. You will want to proceed with caution when buying with BTC. gyft.com has been great to me. I use amazon prime and amazon is simply the greatest place to buy things that they actually carry.

I've used BTC-E > Paypal a few times and had my money within 12hrs both times. The first time was within 2hrs.

I won't say that it is the same experience for others, but for me it has been good so far.

I've also done withdrawals from btc-e direct to PayPal with good results, though it has gone to the time limit posted, but never over.

It is rather expensive to do, but in a pinch you can do it. I'd also suggest doing it early in the week to make sure you get your money in the same week.

I did BTC-e to PP once too, but overall I got hit with a 11-12% fee, which is just way too much. I won't be doing that again.

I have used Crypto-trade a couple times. You can get money to paypal from them, but it takes something like 7 days or something stupid and then you get to deal with paypal fees as well. I've since moved to Coinbase or simply spend BTC on gyft cards or directly through places that take BTC.

Vault of Satoshi is a reallly great exchange, based in Canada and does USD check payouts for FREE.

They do:
BTC, LTC. PPC, DOGE, QRK, FTC and XPM to USD or CAD.

Happy hashing.

(I have personally cashed out here multiple times now by check)

What is the wait time for the check to arrive in your mailbox?

I live close to the exchange, so they process on tuesday and thursday for checks, and it takes 2 days to get to me. so If I request a check on wed, I'll have it by monday, if I request it on Monday, I'll have it by Thursday (usually)

This sounds interesting.

Has anyone used altquick.co? They accept DOGE and LTC among others and do a direct deposit to your bank account (assuming a buyer is found for your sell order).

legally i would say yes. anytime you gain "wealth" you should be taxed is my understanding... though its harder to trace i suppose.

exactly this, if you were a by the books person its obviously a yes but odds of being caught are so slim its worth the risk to me.

Took them 6 business days for Canada Post to get that check to my mailbox in Saskatchewan. Very long and frustrating wait.

However, they are now doing EFT transactions for a fee for Canadians. You better believe I'm all over that option next time.

Otherwise, the people working at VoS are fantastic - can't say enough good about them as an exchange.

Fee is $7.50 for each EFT. I want to know the time it takes for someone on the US East Coast to get a check :)

I can wait 7 days if needed as long as it is reliable.

friend of mine in FL had a small check sent as a test, it took almost 2 weeks. (but this was in Nov, so maybe better now with no Xmas mail to slow things down)

Looks like I might be the first guinea pig to try this and report back. Will do a test of 10,000 DOGE to see how it goes.

coinbase is the best IMO... I've actually used ebay quite a bit even though it's against the terms. not sure if it's possible there anymore. for an altcoin that is really hot, you would get considerably above market value, like 50%. people are probably still doing 24 hour auctions on there an hoping they slip by.

Have you tried Virtex at all? Canadian exchange, they dealt with only BTC up until a day or two ago when they added LTC as well. Multiple EFT options... most only $6. I used them once before and sold my BTC and had my CAD$ in my bank account the next day (even though they say 3-5 business days).

I've used them but their trade rates are too high. 1.5% vs VOS was .5 and now is 1%
