Case selection = SAD!

Good old drive bays....

I´ve got a deal with my local postal worker.

I leave scrap metal out and he picks it up to sell it at the local scrap yard.

This century alone i must have given him a dozen drive bays by now.

you bought a display case, not a functionality case. there are still plenty of cases on the market with 5.25 bays...

and thats just like your opinion, man. ;)
I guess its form over function. But looking at video cards and the way they do the heat sinks seems I am going to have to find ones that will dissipate correctly standing on end.
I think I will be able to do some dremel magic to it and stick a slimline dvd burner at the top just below the panel buttons/usb

yup. as long as the fans can get fresh air it should be fine.
lol yup get [H]ard and mod one in.
or just have a usb one handy for the few times you need it.

With this one I'm thinking of doing some of my old school habits with case modding: cutting out fan holes, taping up places that I don't want air to flow. The side panels block too much air flow for them to be really that good at default. So they will get some fans with filters on the outside of the case where they belong. I guess I could keep the bottom part stock, but cut 120mm fan holes, one in each panel right where they meet up at the motherboard pan.

Display case... has got me thinking, maybe I should put a star wars model in it. Like the corellian corvette by Kenner.

So many great cases to choose from today;

-Fractal Design North XL
-NZXT H7 Flow 2024
-Corsair 5000D

Those are top 3 IMO

Those cases look good to a point. But lack some of the things I like to see in a case like a cdrom drive bay, Even a slimline bay would be better than nothing. Also would be nice to have blank panels/ removable fan bay panels that you unscrew from the outside to ether block out fan holes not in use and a fan bay panel that holds the fan and be easily remove to clean the fans.
Other stuff I would like to see come back is removable or slide out motherboard pan assemblies. That was handy in changing/adding cards and memory and dusting.

Its nice that these cases have options for different AIO water cooling options. But lack good areas to set up a conventional loop with separate reservoir and pump. Also, they don't usually illustrate the best forced air cooling in the case.

Thing about these cases is they are way over priced for what they are and it always seems there is room for improvements in cases and their designs.

I can’t say enough good things about my ProArt case. Excellent air flow and a nice look as well. Not flashy like most cases.

SWEET

That is an awesome case, looks perfect.

I forgot about this case when I was buying my Fractal North XL, this Asus would be top on my list too.
I looked at the Fractal North XL as well, but mostly out of stock, and then I seen this case and said why not. I have zero Asus hardware in it lol. It doesn't have the normal Asus obnoxious badging that normally comes along with it so I'm happy about that.

I have never liked Fractal designs cases very much the front bezels feel/look very plasticy and cheap in my view.... I have this way too big case that I will probably keep using for the time being ... I have had it since 2014 NZXT H630 Full Tower case... the airflow is probably not the best ..but it is ok... I still like the looks of this thing, it is just way too big and heavy when I have to work on the computer. But this case has sound damping foam all throughout which I really like it is pretty quiet, I don't think I could handle one of these mesh front cases making fan noises all day? for now I just keep on keeping on with this full-tower I guess.

I lift weights 5 or 6 days a week mostly so I can restrain a dog if he goes nuts but also so I can move my steel fulltowers around without hurting myself or marring walls and doorframes.

I think I hear my 900D chuckling a bit...

I don't care if it isn't trendy. I love my supertower.

I can pick the tower up no problem ... however I am currently waiting to have hip replacement surgery, which makes such things awkward.. so at the minute I would roll the case out if possible as to avoid needlessly creating pain / discomfort due to have a rather bad hip.

that sucks though it seems like the new hips are pretty good as of the last few years.
