Case Designer Software

You know what we need? We need a case designer software that includes models of mobos, heatsinks, liquid cooling components, and 3D scaling. That would make the jobs of computer modders much easier. I am dreaming about a software that automatically seats your heatsink and be able to calculate how much head clearance is needed. I am dreaming where we can stick a radiator on the top of a case and figure out how much space we have left. I am dreaming of just dragging the end of a custom case design and figuring how much more larger we need to make it. Maybe this community can get together and code this application...maybe it will remain a dream forever.

There are existing applications. They aren't as "user friendly" as you describe, but can acheive the same goals. Google SketchUp for example. You can download model packs that have motherboards, cases, watercooling, all sorts of components people have modelled for you to just plug in and move around.

Anyone with a tape measure and a calculator can do most everything you are "dreaming" of.

You can do all that with Google SketchUp. All modders use it. Easy to use with great results.

From a CAD drafter point of view.
I use AutoCAD (anything from R12 - Current), Solidworks, and AutoDesk Inventor. And looked into this a while back but its not really something thats out there per say. Although, just as mentioned above, there are plenty of misc. part and 3d part objects out there you could easily import and use. You just have to find the right sites.

Some Companies dealing with electronic components such as mobos, vid cards, etc, provide actual dimensions online for exact product placement.
