Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with the same problem or might know a solution:
stats that matter
AMD T-Bird 1ghz NOT oc'ed
MSI K7T-Pro2a (kt-133 chipset, have the latest VIA drivers)
Asus Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB
512MB SDRAM
Windows XP Professional
I first noticed the problem in early December. When I tried playing the XIII demo, the screen went blank when I opened it, my monitor went into sleep mode. I tried updating the video card drivers. Which did nothing, (the newer drivers created another problem that I will not get in to here) So I forgot about it. I hadn't had this problem with any other games.
Recently I got EA Rugby 2004, after installing and running, it did the same exact thing. This time I tried alt-tabbing out, the monitor turned back on and it was on my desktop (with the game still running, which I closed) I tried running it again with a couple display settings changed (mainly just resolution and quality settings) It did the same thing again, but this time instead of letting me get out of it, I get a BSOD after about 10 seconds faulting my Nvidia core driver file. I tried doing it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and it did it again. So I DO know it has something to do with the drivers.
Things I HAVE done, that have NOT worked:
Lowering video card settings
Upgraded to the 55.03 drivers.
Disabled Video BIOS Shadowing
Lately I've been out of the loop on hardware issues so if this is a widespread problem that some might find obvious, my apologies.
