Three PCs, none can connect through the NIC.

i connect through USB, and I even can connect to a router through cable modem.

weird is that my mobo see the on-board NIC.

purchased a rosewill NIC. i see two yellow lights but still no connection.

Win7. Any ideas/help ?

Can't connect to what? What are you trying to do? I can't tell if you are trying to run a cable between 2 computers or are plugging into a switch or what?

connect to what ? LOL ! internet ! The Internet !

for reason unknown, none of the NICS i've tried can establish an internet connection.

I have two Gigabyte MicroATX H67 mobos and one ASRock H61 running Win7. They all
have a built-in Realtek NIC and none can connect the internet.

I purchased a Rosewill NIC card, and that too fails to connect me to internet, on all three computers.

Yet all these computers can connect to the intenet via USB. Go figure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well then it sounds like whatever you are connecting to, router, switch, etc has some issues. What exactly are you plugging the other side of the cable into? Router type etc?

Have you tried more than 1 cable?

what do you mean via USB? you have a USB to ethernet adapter? or Wireless USB Adapter?

I even can connect to a router through cable modem.

So you just said here you can connect to the internet using this method. Do you have all 3 computers connected via Ethernet NIC to this mystery router to your cable modem? or is this a wireless router? and they are all connected via WiFi?

If that's the case why not just use them on WiFi?

You need to explain your network setup better.

What happens when you plug the ethernet cable from your PC to your router or whatever? Does Windows 7 get an IP? Does it say limited or no connectivity??

I can't follow most of whatever it is you're trying to do, but have you installed drivers for the NICs on the PCs that can't use them?

Draw us a diagram with models of network equipment.

Ex:

2wire Modem -> Dlink DIR655 Router -> 8 port netgear gigabit switch -> NIC on PC.

I'm not sure what you are talking about with USB and whatnot... does your modem have a USB port on it? Many 2Wires can be connected via USB and used that way. (Shitty way of doing it though)

Is English your first language? If it is, use proper grammar. It helps us a lot.

everything this guy says, do it.

do you get an IP address when connected (ipconfig /all), can you ping your gateway (listed on the ipconfig command), if so, can you ping 8.8.8.8 (google DNS), if that works, can you ping google.com?

If you don't even have a dhcp address, I would bet you have a bad cable, or some device along the way is not working.

If all else fails, remove as many variables as you can.

But, but, I have 6 different computers, routers, switches, modems connected. Why isn't it all working like I think it should? Why?
P.S. We really love Paint diagrams.

Why do you have 6 modems and routers? Why don't you tell us more about how it's set up then expecting us to read your mind?

I almost thought the same thing and started to post a reply to him, then i realized that wasn't the OP. it was somebody making a joke about his posting.
