hey, so i am reformatting a laptop, and here is my problem.
everytime setup finishes coping files, it shuts down. not restarting. just shuting down.

here's what im werking with

reinstalling xp sp3

ibm thinkpad a31

using a copied xp(not orginal)

and it was getting real hot, so i did put it on a fan. so it isnt overheating anymore.

and it is not restarting, it is shuting off.

*the copy files finishes, then gives me another screen with 3 options, but before i can even read the options, it shuts off

come on guys.

yall are reading this, but not helping me out here.

i really need to know what to do

Sounds like overheating.
Check if the fans inside the laptop are turning, use a can of compressed air to blow away any dust that might be trapped around vents or fans inside the laptop.

And don't bump a thread you started within 24 hours demanding immediate help. We don't get paid to help out and it hacks off a lot of the [H] community when such bumps occur.

ok. thanks tho.
my bad

ok, so i cleaned it out, and restarted it.

finished set up of files, and now is installing windows.

thank you
