My dinosaur finally exploded. So, i'm looking to upgrade. Anything is an upgrade over what I had haha. (amd 3200 1gb ram radeon x700 pro.)

What I want, 500-600 dollars. Screen under 15 inches. HDMI output. Intel processor. Just need for basic home office use. Not gaming.

I'll jump on this thread, instead of making yet another one.. I sold my Asus G60VX-RX009 last night. (FYI: For $600 picked up) I want something smaller and lighter. Preferably a 14" or smaller screen. Looking on the stronger side of CPU, probably an i5 hopefully. I was down to a Sony or a Samsung (I am going to Best Buy tomorrow.) I have been studying every laptop for 2-3 days straight. Budget is a bit of a concern but not completely. I was all set to order an Alienware M15X, and then i thought do I really need that level/price of laptop? I dont even play games on it. So I settled on spending maybe $700-$1000 or so. I also thought about netbooks, but theres a reason BestBuy only has about 10 available anymore. They would just be too slow for me.

This is probably the one I will buy tomorrow:

Samsung - Laptop / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor / 14" Display / 4GB Memory / 640GB Hard Drive - Silver
Model: QX410-S02
Intel® Core™ i5-480M processor
Features a 3MB cache and 2.66GHz processor speed with Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz
4GB DDR3 memory
NVIDIA GeForce 310M Hybrid graphics

Any other ideas on a purchase tomorrow?

well i just came home with it 5 mins ago, but here it is:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+/+14%22+Display+/+4GB+Memory+/+640GB+Hard+Drive+-+Silver/1813058.p?skuId=1813058&id=1218293981487#BVRRWidgetID

One of the fastest cpu i could find, i wanted to get something fairly current. I know CPU isnt everything, but i can always add a SSD and ram later for more speed. Now the video I can't change, but i don't game on my laptops anyway.

FYI Windows 7 Scores:

6.9 CPU
5.9 RAM
4.4 Desktop Graphics
5.9 3D Gaming Graphics
5.9 Hard Disk

Never seen such a descrepancy in the 2 graphics scores before.. weird.

congrats on the lappy purchase. I haven't had great experiences with BB.....but hey they are still open for a reason....
