break a vista password

So im working on a customer's vista machine, turns out he doesnt remember his login password because he just uses the fingerprint scanner. I got him to log in with his fingerprint but cant remove or change his password because to do some requires that he enters his current password. Anyone know of a way to break/remove his login password?

Just keep asking him to come and scan his finger over and over and over and over. He should change his method of protection while you are working on it. Or maybe ask him to leave his finger with you there.

Is he an admin-level account? If so, use that account to create a second account on the system, that is also admin, log in as that user, and then use that user to change his original password. You don't need the original password to do it in that case.

Otherwise I think the UltimateBootCD has a utility to do this.

This, or enable the default Administrator account for a short time and reset his password, that should work.
