Hey I was wondering if you guys could help me with a problem im having. I just got done installing slackware on my main box. It has one hard drive set up with a windows partition, storage partition, and the various linux partitions. After installing slack10 i chose to install lilo to the root partition (/dev/hda9) instead of the MBR. Now I was under the impression that if I flag this partition as bootable and toggle off the windows partition, that this would boot right up? Anyways, it did not. I was however able to use the slack install disk and do the whole boot: bare.i root=/dev/hda9 noinitrd ro command and get into my install. I was wondering if something goofed up or it was just a bad assumption on my part that i could just flag and boot. If not, is there a simple way to create a CD that I can pop in and run that script for me (and without noinitrd ro?) Thanks for your help. I feel rather stupid because I'm sure its just something simple.

It sounds like your partitions are not as they should be. I installed Slackware 10.1 just to do it a month or so ago but never got into it. I had no problems but creating all those partitions is a pain.

This is what I used as a guide step by step and I had 0 problems with the exception Gnome did not seem to be that well supported once installed.

I don't know what would be wrong with my partitions... I've done this quite a few times and never really had any problems like this. If anybody could point me in the direction of the problem I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
