ANYONE know how to get the LCD to shut off in MacBook, or MacBook Pro?

Please do not make any guesses.

MB's with Intel GMA 965 and 3100X both keep the LCD On when the lid is Closed.
MBP's with Nvidia 8600M also keep the LCD On when the lid is Closed.

the ACPI PowerState Mappings for a ACPI Lid does not have S1 or S2 assigned
which is probably the reason why Nothing Happens when you close the Lid of the laptop.

I have my power options to "do nothing" on lid close, which generally means. Just turn off the LCD and keep the Laptop running.

This is about the only problem left in BootCamp... Does ANYONE know??

I do not want to standby.

Nope.

But, you could google for a windows utility that allows you to manually turn it off. I realise it's not as elegant as having the screen switch off automatically on lid-close, but it works...

turn down the brightness so the screen goes off.

or

get input remapper, which is handy because it controls the fans and screen brightness, which will turn off the screen too.

That's what I am currently doing....

I tried different Apps to shut off the LCD after X amount of minutes, but None of them Actually control the hardware, and ALL OF THEM, at least the ones i tried only turn the LCD to Black Screen. which is FAR from what I want...
