Best hardware checking tool?

Just wondering what people would consider the best tools for checking hardware status. That is to say not monitoring hardware status, i.e. software you leave on all the time so you want to minimize its performance footprint, but software that gives you the most accurate information on your system temps, fan speeds, etc.

I've always just used CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and RealTemp, along with HDTune if I think something's wrong with a disk drive, but I was just curious if anyone has any other strong candidates.

I don't understand why it's such a hassle to get data on your video card and cpu temp's as well as the fan speed, but it kind of is. When I need this information I would use something like RivaTuner, but it's been a long time since I've OC'd so I don't know what the best program is nowdays.

Try open hardware monitor. It shows everything that is hooked to motherboard.
