I'm going off to college and buying a tablet PC. I will want to have any paper handouts and such in a digital format with my on the tablet. I'm looking into all-in-one printers that have document feeders.
I found these two candidates:
HP Officejet 5505
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...&subcat1=home_office&catLevel=3#defaultAnchor
and
Officejet 4215
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/s...&subcat1=home_office&catLevel=3#defaultAnchor
Both claim to have 20 document auto feeders that will hopefully work for scanning and not just fax.
Would these come with software to do batch scanning? I.E. I want to put a stack of my papers for the day in it, hit scan, and come back to a folder of searcahble-text PDFs, or just PDFs. Depends on how easy it is to add searchable text to PDFs.
I have a copy of Acrobat 7 Pro.
What else do I need (if anything)?
I'm looking at All-In-Ones because I already have a laser printer for the majority of my printing, but also would like a backup color printer and a scanner, but I am limited on space in a dorm.
