ATi Radeon 9000 or ATi Radeon 9600. What should I get?

I was planning to build an ATi Linux system. I was going to go with Mandriva 2006 PowerPack, with an ATi Radeon 9000 or 9600 video card.

Going to be using this as a web-server, and as a home theatre PC. I will not use this PC for gaming.

The Linux x86 drivers work for all Linux?

No chance, ATI drivers are horrible on Linux. For a start, TV out still isn't working on it...

You're going to have to go nVidia if you want Linux support.

Yeah ati's linux drivers are crap. They DO work...kinda...I got them to work on a mobility x300, at least. But performance is horrible (compared to windows drivers on the same card) and a lot of basic features (like the aforementioned tv-out) don't even work.

Nvidia's linux drivers are fantastic.
